Spartanburg, S.C. - Midway through the Southern Conference indoor track & field season, Western Carolina leads in both the men's and women's power rankings. The rankings are determined by the top eight times or scores that are reported by the schools for each event that will be conducted at this month's championships.

The Catamount men have 214 points and are followed by Appalachian State with 198 points. WCU captured a team victory at the UNC Tar Heel Invitational on Jan. 8 before snagging 10 podium finishes at the Clemson Games on Jan. 29-30.

On the women's side, Western Carolina has 183 points and leads rival Appalachian State by 17 points. At the Clemson Games, the WCU women placed among the top-three in podium finishes with seven.

Western Carolina will compete in the Tiger Paw Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 13 in Clemson, S.C.
