Cullowhee, N.C. - Although not on the team's schedule, Western Carolina head track and field coach Danny Williamson took five athletes to compete in the Tar Heel Classic Indoor Meet this past weekend in Chapel Hill. The Cats fared well as junior Caleb Bailey finished as the champion of the 800 meter run with a time of 1:52.72, his second straight first place finish of the season in the event, while freshman John Robertson finished fifth in the event with a time of 1:57.40.

Redshirt freshman Adam Puett came in fourth place in the mile at a time of 4:17.18 and sophomore Milton Bolton finished the 400 meter run with a time of 50.11. Junior T. Alford ran the 60 meter dash in 6.90 in the preliminaries and then improved his finish in the finals with a time of 6.85, good for seventh place.

Both the Catamount men's and women's teams will travel to Johnson City, Tenn., later this week for the ETSU Invitational to begin on Friday, Jan. 31.
