The Western Carolina men's sprint medley team set a WCU record at the Penn Relays. Derrick High, Akaba Glaspie, Tim Vaught and Caleb Bailey set a record time of 3:23.18 in the event.

Virginia LaCombe, Valerie Jalajas and Charles Rice traveled to the Knoxville Invitational hosted by Tennessee. LaCombe finished second in the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 8.75 inches. Jalajas reached a height of 12 feet, 3.5 inches in the pole vault to finish fourth while Rice finished second with a height of 16 feet, 2.75 inches in the same event.

The WCU Track & Field team will next travel to Clemson, May 12-13 as they now attempt to qualify for the NCAA Tournament.
