Tiger Track Classic Final Results Get Acrobat Reader

AUBURN, Ala. - The Western Carolina men's and women's track & field teams set numerous SoCon season marks on the final day of the Tiger Track Classic hosted by Auburn University. WCU posted 25 top-10 finishes on Saturday including an individual best third place finish in the men's 400m by junior Dakota Lamont.

Lamont rounded the track in 47.38 to post the top time in the SoCon this season. Fellow junior Henry Kiedi finished six spots back in ninth but still posted the second fastest time in the SoCon this season with a mark of 48.26.

The men's 4x400m relay team also posted a third place finish as freshman Devaniel Dale, Kiedi, sophomore Miles Greer and Lamont teamed up to set a new SoCon season best at 3:14.80.

Sophomore Dasha Arnaut and senior Tiffani Lewis were the women's top finishers. Arnaut placed fourth in the 400m with a SoCon best time of 54.75 while Lewis took fourth in the long jump with a SoCon best mark of 5.99m. Freshman Jazmine Gooden finished six spots back in the long jump in 10th after touching down at 5.66m.

Sophomore Jordan Bostian came in fourth on the men's side in the 3,000m steeplechase as he led a group of three WCU top-10 finishers. He stopped the clock at 9:50.05. Freshman Justin Tucker came in one spot back at 9:59.21 while freshman Tyler Robakiewicz placed seventh with a time of 10:33.51.

Sophomore Mia Little, Lewis, Arnaut and Gooden teamed up to place fifth in the 4x100m relay after posting a time of 46.26.

Junior Meghan Breden tied for fifth in the women's pole vault as she cleared 3.75m to post the third best height in the SoCon this season.

Arnaut, sophomore Sally Woerner, freshman Kellsie Whitehead and sophomore Kaitlyn Lingard teamed up in the women's 4x400m relay to place sixth after posting a time of 3:50.15.

Senior Hailey Cook took sixth in the shot put after tossing the element 14.27m while sophomore Simone Williams placed 10th with a mark of 13.39m.

Sophomore Caleb Albrecht took sixth on the men's side in the 800m as he rounded the track twice in 1:53. 86. Greer took 10th at 1:55.10 as well.

Gooden took seventh in the women's 100m with the second fastest time in the SoCon this season at 11.93.

WCU football player turned track athlete, junior Keion Crossen, finished seventh in the men's 100m after crossing the line in 10.83.

Junior Kevin Hires took seventh in the men's long jump after touching down at 6.86m which ranks third in the SoCon this season.

Junior Mateius Brown took eighth in the men's discus after posting a distance of 46.11m.

Sophomore Devyn Montel Jones placed eighth in the men's 400m hurdles with the third best time in the SoCon this season of 54.84. Jones also finished 10th in the 110m hurdles after crossing the line in 14.91.

Junior Thor Smith tied for ninth in the men's pole vault as he cleared 4.55m.

Lingard took ninth in the women's 800m as she rounded the track twice in 2:14.01. The final top 10 finisher for the Catamounts came in the 3,000m as freshman Shawnda Martin took 10th in the 3,000m with a time of 10:50.10.

The Catamounts will return to action April 14-15 as they host the annual Beynon Sports Catamount Classic.
