Clemson, S.C. - At the Clemson Heptathlon and Pentathlon over the weekend, Catamount junior Laura Tieszen finished fourth overall in the women's pentathlon with a Western Carolina Record score of 2,889. Also topping the WCU record books was junior Bobby Robinson who finished 13th overall in the men's heptathlon with a Catamount record score of 4,188. Senior Christel Kirkpatrick and freshman Ryan Fussell also represented Western at the meet.
Additionally over the weekend, the Catamount men's pole vaulters and shot putters competed at the ASU Invitational in Boone, N.C. Sophomore Wes Willoughby tied for third in the men's pole vault, clearing 14-5.25, while Christian Benson cleared 13-5.25 to tie for seventh. Morris Sanders came in 13th in the men's shot put with a distance of 41-8.75 to lead the Cats. Felipe Foster tied for 15th at 41-6.5, Shamar Allen finished 25th at 37-8.75 and Kevin McAlmont came in 28th with a distance of 36-3.5.
The Catamounts travel to South Bend, Ind., next to compete in the Meyo Invitational this weekend.
