JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -The sprint team paced Western Carolina track and field in the final day of the Niswonger Invitational hosted by East Tennessee State.
Catamount women's sprinter Felisha Garren won the 400m with a time of 56.45. Benny Davis placed second in the men's 400m, with a time of 48.05, just behind former Catamount sprinter Manteo Mitchell, who clocked a time of 47.21 to win the event.
Western Carolina's 4x400m relay time, comprising of Aaron Tribble, Brandon Hairston, Demari Boswell and Davis took first in the relay event crossing the finish line at 3:15.51. The Catamount's women's "A" team, with Brittany Diggs, Shiniqua Pryor, Jocelyn Keenand and Garren took second at 3:52.94 while the WCU "B" team took third.
In the middle distance races, Western Carolina made a solid showing as well. Both the men's and women's distance medley relay, DMR, placed second. For the men, Jake Swimmer, Boswell, Aaron Harris and Chase Fisher clocked of time of 10:35.50. Kaylan Lance, Tsanni Collier, Keen and Mara Smithcombined with a time of 12:20.54 to place second in the DMR.
Lance picked up a fourth place showing in the mile run with a time of 5:23.35.
