Western Carolina Track and Field Results from East Tennesssee State Invitational

Johnson City, Tenn. - The Western Carolina track and field team competed in the IkonN Invitational hosted by East Tennessee State January 26-27.

The men's team placed second in the 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:13.27. The time was a new school record. The relay team was Derrick High, Tim Vaught, Akaba Glaspie and Bola Oyegumywa. Placing third individually was Jeff Champbers in the shot put with a distance of 46 feet and 8.75 inches.

On the women's side Cedea Bowden and Kamata Potts each finished second in their flights in the long jump. Bowden jumped a distance of 17 feet nine inches and Potts recorded 18 feet 0.5 inches.

Western Carolina will return to Clemson February 2-3 for the Clemson Tiger Classic.
