Johnson City, Tenn. - Eleven Catamounts produced top-five finishes and both men's and women's 4x400 meter relay teams finished third at the Niswonger Invitational, hosted by East Tennessee State over the weekend. Laura Tieszen finished as the champion in the pole vault after finishing second in last week's meet. The junior cleared 12-6 en route to claiming the title.
Jason Stepp placed third in the men's weight throw (52-4), while Miranda Long finished fifth in the women's weight throw (45-9.25). Adam Puett came in fifth in the men's 3000 meters (8:46.61), Milton Bolton finished fifth in the men's 400 meters (49.23) and Lawrence Briscoe placed third in the men's 60 meter dash (8.25). Eddie Vick came in third in the men's 800 meters (1:59.98), while Becky Signoretti finished fifth in the women's 800 meters (2:22.76). Wes Willoughby placed fourth in the men's pole vault, clearing 14-1.25 and Melanie Cooper rounded out the group of top-five finishers with a fifth place performance in the women's 3000 meters, coming in at 10:48.32.
