WCU: Placed fourth in the multis at the Southern Conference Tournament in both outdoor and indoor his freshman season...Received the Athletic Directors Academic Achievement Award in both the fall and spring semesters...Named to the 2003-04 SoCon Honor Roll.
High School: Coached hurdles during the summer in 2003 with Kristin Olsen finishing in the top 50 in the US... Was a four-year letter-winner in cross country and track and field... Won back-to-back county titles in the 110 meter hurdles... Additionally won the county title in the 300 meter hurdles, triple jump and 4x400 meter relay... Competed at the state meet in both cross country and track and field as a senior... Broke his school's 110 meter hurdles record as well as the 300 meter hurdle, sprint medley and shuttle hurdle relay records... Was the USATF Area 4 110 meter hurdles champion in 2003... Finished in 10th place at the USATF regional meet in the triple jump... Was named a student-athlete of the week at his school... Personal-best marks include: 110 meter hurdles - 15.34, 300 meter hurdles - 40.54, 400 meter hurdles - 57.33, 400 meters - 50.37, triple jump - 41-9, long jump - 20-7... Won the cross country team award in 2002 as well as the True Blue Panther award, Ice Pick award, Senior Athletic award in track and the Ronnie Godwin Running Scholarship from a local running club... Was the team captain of his school's track and field team in 2003 as well as the captain of the Southside Pioneers, his summer track team... Was his school's track MVP in 2003.
