CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina University's website catamountsports.com will host a unique feature in the 2007-08 season, as several Western Carolina student-athletes will give insight to their daily lives through a blog. The blog can be found here or by going to the bottom right hand side of the front page of the website and hitting Western Carolina Student Athlete Blogs.

Student-athletes who are already submitting blogs for the sight include softball's Lauren Ross, volleyball's Liz Rondone, soccer's Heather Dittmer and men's basketball player Arnold Gore. Each sport will eventually have a student-athlete providing blogs through the course of the year.

So, what is a "blog" any way...? Blog is short for "weblog." A weblog is an online journal (or newsletter) that is frequently updated and intended for general public consumption. Blogs generally represent the personality of the author.

By allowing several student-athletes to blog it will give fans a better understanding of what goes on in the daily lives of WCU's student-athletes both on and off the court or field of competition.
