Cullowhee, N.C. - The Western Carolina men's golf team, which heads to its Southern Conference Championship tournament this weekend, as well as the Catamount Cheerleading squad which will hold annual tryouts this weekend at historic Reid Gym, are scheduled to be the in-studio guests on "In the Litterbox," tonight (Wednesday, April 18) at 7:00 pm. The show airs from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm on WWCU-FM, Power 90dot5 in Cullowhee or online at www.WWCUFM.com.
Head men's golf coach, Gorham Bradley, and the entire traveling team for this year's SoCon championship will be in the studio, as well as WCU Cheerleading Coach, Kim Cherry, and seniors Rachael Holt and Kelly Sikes.
Wednesday is a busy day for Catamount Athletics on the air waves of WWCU as in addition to "ITL" at 7:00 pm, the softball double-header between Western and Georgia State which begins at 2:00 pm will also be aired live-on-location at the on-campus Catamount Softball Complex.
"ITL" is a weekly interactive sports talk show that highlights Western Carolina Catamount athletics. Each week includes recaps of WCU current events, as well as in-studio interviews with Catamount personalities. The show is co-hosted by WCU junior, Josh Thompson, of Lincolnton, N.C., and Daniel Hooker, Assistant Athletics Director for Media Relations, and is produced by station student general manager, Kyle McCurry.
WWCU-FM, Power 90dot5 continues to serve as the Flagship Station of Catamount Athletics this season, broadcasting Catamount football, men's and women's basketball, and Catamount baseball thus far this season, with select softball broadcasts in the works. WWCU has also been a partner with WCU Athletics in broadcasting the SoCon Women's Soccer Championship and NCAA tournament appearance, as well as the first-ever Catamount Softball games last season, continuing with both the softball and baseball SoCon tournaments.
