Cullowhee, N.C. - Last Saturday, the Western Carolina Catamount Cheerleading squad participated in the on-campus 5-K Race for Diabetes. The fundraising event was sponsored by Western's Department of Intramurals and the University Center.

"Being involved in our community and participating in events such as this is very important to our WCU Cheerleading Program," said WCU alum and head cheerleading coach, Kim Cherry. "Last Saturday's run was good for us, and knowing we were running for an excellent cause, made it even better!"

The WCU Cheerleaders will be holding tryouts on campus on April 20-22 for the 2007-08 athletic seasons.
