Jeff Pitman Takes Strength & Conditioning Position at Arkansas State

Cullowhee, N.C. - Former Western Carolina Strength & Conditioning Coordinator Jeff Pitman has accepted the director's position at Arkansas State it was announced on Wednesday by Red Wolves' new head football coach, Bryan Harsin. Pitman has spent the past three years at WCU working primarily with the football, men's basketball and baseball programs while also overseeing the overall operation of the Catamount Strength & Conditioning aspects in the Jordan-Phillips Field House.

Western Carolina's athletic department will begin a national search for his replacement immediately with hopes of filling the position in early January.

A certified strength and conditioning specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), Pitman also had previous experience at Colorado, his alma mater Boise State, San Jose State and Montana State dating back to 1995 before coming to Cullowhee in January of 2010.

Pitman - a three-year letterman at center for Boise State from 1990-92 - spent the previous five years as the director of speed-strength and conditioning at Colorado, but also worked closely with Harsin on the Boise State coaching staff for seven years from 2000-06.
