Cullowhee, N.C. - Western Carolina University will host five basketball games within a three-day period beginning Thursday's men's basketball home opener against Toccoa Falls, as well as entertain mountain-rival, Appalachian State, in the final home football game of the season this weekend.
Limited tickets are still available for Saturday's annual "Battle for the Old Mountain Jug" scheduled for a 3:00 pm kickoff at E.J. Whitmire Stadium / Bob Waters Field. Remaining seats are available in the "purple" areas on the seating chart and are $25 for adults and $15 for youth age 17 and under.
On game day this Saturday, the West Side ticket booth will open at 9:00 am with any remaining seats for the game available for purchase, as well as the Will Call window.
This Thursday, the Catamount men's basketball team opens its home schedule by hosting Toccoa Falls at 7:00 pm in the Ramsey Center. Tickets for the event are $10 for reserved adult tickets and $7 for an adult general admission, with all youth seats available for $5. Fans can purchase these tickets in advance at the Ramsey Center box office, or at both the Southwest and Northeast entrances on the day of the game.
Beginning on Friday evening, Western Carolina will host four games in the Preseason Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) as the Lady Catamounts welcome Liberty, UC Riverside and first-round opponent, Lafayette (Pa.) to Cullowhee. Games begin on Friday at 5:00 pm, with WCU taking to the court at 7:30 pm. On Saturday, the Lady Cats will play at 7:00 pm, with the second game to follow at 9:30 pm.
Tickets, which will be honored for both games of the daily session, are $10 for adults reserved and $6 for general admission, with all youth and student (with valid University ID) tickets priced at $6. Fans can purchase these in advance, or at the above entrances on the day of the game.
Since this weekend's women's basketball event is part of the Preseason WNIT, all patrons - including current Catamount season ticket holders and WCU students - will need to purchase a ticket in order gain admission.
Also, Western Carolina students wishing to earn the Student Rewards Points will need to print their tickets for all of the above home events off online. Students will need to purchase tickets to the WNIT games to be held in the Ramsey Center.
A reminder to those attending any of the basketball games this week that the truck tunnel will be closed and not used as an entrance during all basketball games played in the Ramsey Center.
And finally, tickets for Western Carolina's women's basketball game at Tennessee next Tuesday, Nov. 25 are also on sale through the WCU Ticket Office. Lower level seats at Thompson Boling Arena are available for $20, with upper deck seats at $15 apiece.
