SAAC Hosts Fall Fun Day Wednesday

Nov. 1, 2011

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina University's Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be sponsoring a dodge ball game for all members of Catamount Athletics at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Ramsey Center as part of its Fifth Annual SAAC Fall Fun Day for Catamount Athletics.

The teams will consist of seniors (wearing purple shirts), juniors (wearing black shirts), sophomores (wearing grey shirts), and freshmen (wearing white shirts). The seniors will face off against the freshmen, with the winner playing the victor of the juniors vs. sophomore's game. The overall team winner of the student-athletes will play the coaches/faculty/staff team.

"I would like to encourage as many student-athletes as possible to participate in the dodge ball game," said SAAC president and senior football player Chris Everett. "It will be fun for us to enjoy a break and to enjoy each other's company. I would like to challenge the coaches to match the intensity of the student-athlete. I look forward to seeing everyone at the event, more than anything I look forward to the laughs I know we will share that night."

The purpose of the event is to promote strong relationships among the student-athletes of Catamount Athletics through healthy competition on an equal playing field. The event strives to see that no one has an unfair advantage.
