Cullowhee, N.C. - Western Carolina head men's basketball coach Larry Hunter and head women's basketball coach Kellie Harper will be the in-studio guests on Wednesday's "In the Litterbox," heard on WWCU-FM, Power 90dot5. Both basketball programs opened practice last Friday in preparation for their 2008-09 seasons.

Fans can tune into the show over the airwaves, or online at and call in at (828) 227-7173.

WCU head women's soccer coach Tammy DeCesare is also expected to make an appearance on the call-in talk show as the Catamounts moved into sole possession of second place in the Southern Conference standings over the weekend. Wednesday night's show will also include a round table discussion of Catamount football with a look back at last Saturday's road loss at No. 4 Wofford, and this weekend's Family Day game against Georgia Southern.

Both the men's and women's basketball programs will co-host a 2008-09 Basketball Rouser in the Ramsey Center on Thursday (Oct. 23) night at 7:00 pm. The family-oriented event will feature dinner, tours of the facilities including locker rooms and film room, as well as special on-court activities for a real "hands-on" look at WCU basketball. The cost of the event is just $10.

"In the Litterbox" - a weekly interactive sports talk show that highlights Western Carolina Catamount athletics - is amidst its fourth season on the air on WWCU, Power 90dot5. Each week includes recaps of WCU current events, as well as in-studio interviews with Catamount personalities.

The show is hosted by Daniel Hooker, Assistant Athletics Director for Media Relations, with co-host Greg McLamb of the Catamount Sports Network.

WWCU continues to serve as the Flagship Station of Catamount Athletics this season, broadcasting Catamount football, men's and women's basketball, and Catamount baseball thus far this season, with select softball broadcasts in the works. WWCU has also been a partner with WCU Athletics in broadcasting the SoCon Women's Soccer Championship and NCAA tournament appearance, as well as the first-ever Catamount Softball games last season, continuing with both the softball and baseball SoCon tournaments.

ITL airs from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm every Wednesday night.
