Cullowhee, N.C. - This weekend's football locker room phonathon was a success.
"I'd like to thank all the following Catamount Club volunteers Tobe Childers, Charles "Babe" Howell, Peggy Howell, Tom Hunnicutt,Mike Mabry, Sheri Waters, and Kathy Wooten," said Catamount Club Director Bill Richter. " Also, I'd like to thank Coach Briggs, the entire football coaching staff and especially Boyce Dietz of Western's "W" Club. These people took time out of their schedule to met this past Saturday and conduct a phonathon, calling the entire database of former Western Football players to solicit support for our locker room project."
With their help, the entire database of over 600 names were contacted and over $15,000 in additional pledges were gathered for the project in under three hours of telephoning.
Although our goal of raising the $200,000 and completing the project in time for next football season, we still need help. Approximately 75 naming opportunities remain so those wishing to name a locker for the $500 contribution will stil have that opportunity.
For more information on how to support the project, call Bill Richter at (828) 227-2530.
