Cullowhee, N.C. - Catamount Athletics would like to congratulate Gary Rocket of Nebo, N.C., who was today chosen as the sixth prize recipient in the "1st and 10 Summer Fun Giveaways" promotion. He will receive a complimentary 18 holes of golf from Sequoyah Country Club.
Beginning with the first giveaway back on July 1, a new winner will be selected by the WCU Athletic Department every 10 days and announced online through CatamountSports.com. Only Western Carolina football season ticket holders are eligible for the "1st and 10" Summer Fun Giveaways. Thus far, over 65-percent of previous season ticket holders have renewed their tickets for the 2010 season of Catamount Football.
The final prize of the summer long contest will be awarded on August 29.
In addition to qualifying for the "1st and 10 Summer Fun Giveways," other ticket incentives include the "Buy Three, Get One Free" offer to those looking to buy football season tickets for the first time. Throughout the 2010 Catamount football season, fans purchasing football season tickets for the first time can buy three season tickets and get one free.
Those interested in "Buy Three, Get One Free" promotion can purchase the tickets online at www.CatamountSports.com using the promo code "10FREE" or call the Athletic Ticket Office at (828) 227-2401. The total price is as follows: $283 for chair back seating (Section DD, JJ, KK, LL) and $253 for Purple Reserved seating (Section D, E, EE, F, G, II, K, L, MM). Other summer time season ticket promotions include the "Lowe's Family Fun Zone" which features two adult and two youth tickets in Section J for $168; and the WCU Recent Alumni package that is open to 2008-10 graduates only, adjacent the WCU student section.
Also new this year is the Catamount Football ticket mini-plan which includes a ticket three Southern Conference home games. Included in this year's plan is a ticket to games against conference foes Chattanooga (Sept. 25) and Georgia Southern (Nov. 13), as well as to the annual gridiron showdown with archrival, Appalachian State on October 23rd. Prices for the Catamount mini-plan are for $55 and $35 for youth ages 3-12. The plan goes on sale through CatamountSports.com beginning July 15th. Single-game football tickets - with the exception of the Appalachian State game (Oct. 23) - are scheduled to go on sale to the general public on Sunday, August 1st. Tickets to the annual "Battle for the Old Mountain Jug" will be released online to the public on September 26.
Western Carolina's football team officially reports on Friday, August 6 with the first practice session scheduled for Saturday, August 7 and first full day in pads tentatively slated six-days later on Thursday, August 12. The Catamount Club is planning its "Second Annual Parking Cookout" for Saturday, August 14, coinciding with a two-a-day practice for the football team at Whitmire Stadium / Waters Field.
The Catamounts open the 2010 season on Saturday, September 4 at North Carolina State in Raleigh before hosting Tusculum on Saturday, Sept. 11 in the home opener in Cullowhee.
