CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina University athletics will employ numerous aspects of social media to keep fans up to date with the happenings this week. Updates on the department's Twitter site with tweets, twitpics and audio tweets will keep fans in the know at the Football 101 event (Thursday), the Western Open Golf Tournament (Friday) and Catamount football's first day of practice (Saturday).
The Catamounts' twitter site can be found at http://www.twitter.com/catamounts. Twitter is easy to sign-up for if fans haven't done so already, and they can get up to the minute updates on Western Carolina athletics. Pictures from the events to close out the first week of August in Catamount athletics as well as audio from coaches will be available on the Catamount's Twitter account.
Western Carolina will also continue to provide insightful interviews on its Catamount Tracks Podcast. Keep an ear out for coaches, players and administrators as the 2009-10 season kicks off. A link to the podcast can be found on the website at catamountsports.com. Selected student-athletes will also be blogging again this year for the athletic department.
