Cullowhee, N.C. - The Catamount Club will host the annual Western Open Golf Tournament on Friday, Aug. 7 beginning at 1:00 pm at the Waynesville Inn - Golf Resort and Spa. The unofficial kickoff event for the 2009-10 athletic season includes golf, as well as a dinner that evening.
The 18-hole, two-person captain's choice golf tournament will commence with a shotgun start at 1:00 pm. The individual entry fee of $125 includes the tournament, dinner, beverages, tournament gift, tournament awards and the chance to interact with WCU coaches and staff.
Dinner at the club, slated to start around 6:30 pm, will follow the full afternoon of golf. Catamount fans who do not participate in the golf outing can also attend the dinner at a cost of $35 per person.
Additional ways to support the tournament include hole sponsorship ($100 per hole), or by sponsoring a two-person team ($350). All funds raised from the event will benefit the Western Carolina athletic summer school scholarships.
