The Western Carolina University Department of Athletics announced today the formation of the Catamount McKids Club.

The Catamount McKids Club will provide an avenue by which kids 12-and-under can become a part of the Catamount athletic program. The organization will provide a variety of benefits and opportunities for kids ranging from t-shirts, membership cards, quarterly newsletters, birthday cards, complimentary admission to selected athletic events and tailgate parties.

As the name implies the club's official sponsor is McDonald's.

"This is a great opportunity for our department to reach out to kids at a very young age and make them a special part of our athletic program," said Senior Associate Athletic Director Hunter Yurachek. "Today's children are the future of our program and we want to develop true Catamount fans at a young age."

Membership fee to the Catamount McKids Club is only $15 per year. Applications are available by calling the athletic department at 1-800-34-GOWCU or on the world wide web at www.catamountsports.com.
