Western Carolina University Ticket Office Announces New Ticketing System

June 25, 2008

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - The WCU Athletic Ticket Office will begin a new partnership with Ticket Return as the ticketing software provider for Western Athletics. Along with a change in ticketing software comes many more fan friendly changes for the loyal Western Fans and Students, such as season ticket cards to replace bulky packs of individual tickets, and a student rewards system to help encourage student attendance and involvement in athletic events.

The new system will go into place this month and fans will begin to see the changes as early as July 1st. No longer will fans have to worry about making sure they have the right ticket for each game as season tickets will come in the form of a single card for each seat purchased that will be scanned at each game throughout the season. Customers will also receive an online account automatically once they place an order. This account is set up similar to that of an online banking account, except instead of managing your finances, you will be able to manage your tickets.

Students will also have an account created online for them. Each student will be able to sign into their accounts and print their own tickets for each home game for all sports, as well as have the opportunity to purchase discounted tickets for friends and family coming to visit. Each time the student prints and uses their ticket for admission to the games, they will receive points. The points will correspond to a rewards program with prizes and incentives offered from our sponsors, including Catamount Peaks and Sonic.

"I'm very excited at the chance to be able to provide a better service to our fans," WCU Athletic Ticket Manager, Tracy Linville said. "This new system will give our fans and students a chance to be more involved in Catamount Athletics than before."
