CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Fifty-four former Western Carolina student-athletes, along with four student trainers, an equipment manager, a graduate assistant and a student assistant in the media relations office participated in graduation commencement Saturday in the Ramsey Center. The list is a combination of winter and spring graduates, because there wasn't a December commencement.

Spotlighting Western Carolina's list of graduates is a trio of Catamount student-athletes who were honored by ESPN The Magazine both at the District level and the national level for their academics. Senior baseball player Tyler Kirkpatrick and senior women's basketball player Kristen Feemster were each named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III team. Kirkpatrick was a second team selection and Feemster was a first team honoree. Feemster was also one of 30 candidates for the Lowe's Senior Class Award.

The third honoree was senior men's basketball player Jake Robinson, who not only was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District First Team, he was also honored nationally. Robinson was voted to named ESPN The Magazine Third Team Academic All-American.
