Cullowhee, N.C. - Six Greek organizations participated in this year's WCU Greek Night Cook-Off, presented by Bogart's Restaurant of Sylva. Each year, on-campus Greek organizations are invited to the outfield parking lot behind Childress Field/Hennon Stadium to fire up their grills and cook what will hopefully be named the award-winning hamburger dish.
Bogart's donates one pound of hamburger meat to each group, who then is responsible for preparing a specialty dish. A panel of six judges, including men's basketball head coach Larry Hunter, volleyball head coach Stephanie Dragan, women's basketball assistant L'Tona Lamonte, Catamount cheerleading coaches Kim Cherry and Eddie Wells, along with honorary judge Tim Hall, the owner of Bogart's of Sylva, were responsible for judging each dish based upon creativity, overall taste and presentation.
This year's winning Greek organization is Alpha Chi Omega. As part of their 2007 Greek Night Prize, Bogart's will prepare their dish and serve it as a menu special, aptly named the "Alpha Chi Omega Burger."
