Cullowhee, N.C. - Several dozen former Catamounts athletes, with the support of the Western Carolina University Athletic Department, have met and worked over the past several months to form a club for previous WCU athletes. Under the direction of Outreach Coordinator Boyce Deitz, the club is close to becoming reality.

There will be a meeting on Saturday, April 13, at 2:00 pm in the Tom Young Room of the Jordan-Phillips Field House. The purpose of this meeting is to select officers, pick a board of directors, approve a constitution/by-laws and to decide on upcoming events.

The purpose of this organization is to enhance fellowship between individuals who have participated in intercollegiate athletics at Western Carolina. This is not a fund-raising organization. All athletes of any varsity sport, past or present, will be involved, and all athletes are invited to attend our final organizational meeting. This meeting will be part of a great day of Catamount events at the University, including WCU baseball against College of Charleston at 1:00 pm, and the annual football Spring Game at 5:00 pm.

If you have any questions or need further information, contact Kim Jamison, WCU Athletics secretary at 828-227-7338, or Boyce Deitz: WCU - 828-227-2112, home - 828-586-8431.
