CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Fans of Western Carolina athletics can now follow Catamount athletics on Twitter, a new and exciting network to get up to date information.
Twitter is a social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read other users' updates, tweets, which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length. Updates are displayed on the user's profile page and delivered to other users who have signed up to receive them.
Fans who want to follow Catamount athletics can go to www.twitter.com and sign up, then go to the Catamount Athletics Twitter page at http://twitter.com/Catamounts and hit the follow button under the Catamount logo. For those who want quick updates on your phone, as well, go to settings and hit devices to have the same messages text to a cell phone.
Western Carolina athletics will use the twitter site to send game day information, ticket updates, game time changes, and scoring updates. Also, make sure to sign up early, and fans can get up to date information where and what the Lady Catamount basketball team is doing when they head to the 2009 NCAA Women's basketball Tournament.
Fans who sign up for Twitter this weekend can be one of the first to learn where Western Carolina women's basketball will be sent in the First Round of the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament. Twitter followers will get a message just seconds after the site is revealed.
