Catamount Basketball Seeks Road Wins on Monday Night

Cullowhee, N.C. - Both Western Carolina basketball teams are in action on Monday night in their final road games of the 2009 regular season. The Catamount men visit Wofford at 7:00 pm in Spartanburg, S.C., while the Lady Catamounts square-off against conference-leading Samford at 8:00 pm ET (7:00 pm local).

PROGRAMMING NOTE: Both games will be broadcast on WWCU-FM, Power 90dot5 in Cullowhee and online at www.WWCUFM.com. The men's game will also be aired on 1590 AM WBHN in Bryson City. Air time for the men's game is 6:45 pm, with a 7:00 pm tip. The women's game will be carried on WWCU-FM, Power 90dot5 in Cullowhee immediately following the men's game.

Western Carolina (14-13, 9-8 SoCon) visits Wofford (13-12, 9-7 SoCon) in an intra-divisional match-up on Monday night from the Benjamin Johnson Arena. It is WCU's final road game of the regular season with WCU looking to secure the seasonal sweep. The Catamounts will try and keep pace with North Division leader, Chattanooga (11-6), which hosts the College of Charleston on Senior Night on Monday.

Catamount Men's Basketball Visits Wofford on Monday Night at 7 pm

Western Carolina women's basketball plays its final regular season SoCon road game Monday when it faces league-leading Samford at 8:00 pm. The Lady Catamounts (16-11, 12-6 SoCon), are riding a five-game winning streak - the longest of the season - and are currently ranked fourth in the conference race. Western Carolina is coming off a 56-52 upset of Chattanooga, which is ranked second in the SoCon.

Lady Catamounts Face SoCon-Leading Samford on Monday Night at 8 pm

Western's men return home to host North Division rival Samford on Thursday (Feb. 26) at 7:00 pm in the Ramsey Center for the annual - and much heralded - Beach Night. "Summer time is calling you" to the Ramsey Center for a night of beach tunes, shorts and basketball.

Western will wrap-up its regular season - with a chance at a division championship on the men's side - as it hosts Chattanooga in the night cap of Catamount basketball double-header on Saturday (Feb. 28). Admission will be free for the first-ever "Catamount Stimulus Package," which will feature a Catamount Fan Frenzy with great prizes and giveaways. The Lady Catamounts host Wofford at 4:00 pm in game one of the double-header, followed by the men's game at 7:00 pm.
