Hunter and Middleton Discuss Teams at Today's Catamount Coaches' Luncheon

CULLOWHEE, N.C. - Western Carolina Head Men's Basketball Coach Larry Hunter and Head Women's Basketball Coach Karen Middleton talked about their past contests and upcoming games on Saturday at today's Catamount Coaches' Luncheon.

Middleton discussed the women's basketball team's first road victory of the season, a 69-39 defeat at Furman on February 6. The Catamounts (4-20, 3-12 SoCon) complete its current four-game road swing at Elon (10-15, 5-11 SoCon) on Saturday. The Phoenix nipped Western Carolina, 59-54, in Cullowhee on January 9. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m.

Emily Clarke leads the Catamount women's basketball team averaging 13.8 points per game. Senior forward Kristen Feemster is coming off a career-high 17 point performance against Appalachian State.

Later that evening, at 7 p.m. the Western Carolina men's basketball team (18-7, 8-5 SoCon) will host Davidson (12-11, 7-4 SoCon) in the Ramsey Center. The Catamounts defeated the Wildcats at Davidson 77-67 on January 20. WCU is coming off back-to-back losses against Appalachian State and Elon.

Senior Jake Robinson paces men's basketball, averaging 12.4 points per game. He is quickly followed by Brandon Giles with 12.1 points per game. Western Carolina has dropped consecutive games for the first time this season, falling to 5-1 in games following a loss.
