Try-out Information

  • Fat percentage 15%- 20% for ladies and 7%- 12% for men. (Preferred, not required)

  • For safety purposes, any female over the 122 weight limit may not be assigned partner but will still be considered for the squad.

  • Up to 14 females could be chosen.

  • A good standing back handspring required

  • Running tumbling is required

  • Elite tumbling will increase your total score

  • Will not accept a video in place of attending the try-out.

  • Please dress appropriately for try-outs. (Ladies a sports top and cotton shorts or tights. Guys a tee shirt and shorts. Tennis shoes or cheerleading shoes a must. Hair must be out of face.)

  • You only need to bring a signed Release Form and a signed Rules and Regulations form with you. Everything will be taught to you at the try-out.

  • Try-outs are closed, but the practices are open.

    Try-Outs - April 12 and 13. (Saturday, and Sunday)

    Saturday begins at 9:30 in Reid Gym. A schedule will be given to you once you arrive. There will be a semi-final on Saturday late afternoon and the final try-out will be held on Sunday. We should be through by 5:00 pm on Sunday.

    Please bring the Release Form already signed and the Rules and Regulations already signed. You may mail these in to Western Carolina University, c/o Charity Moon, Athletic Dept., Cullowhee, NC 28723, or bring them with you.
