It's a Cullowhee Tradition - Beach Night at the Ramsey Center

Jan. 25, 2006

Cullowhee, N.C. - Western Carolina is set to host its annual Beach Night on Monday, January 30, as the Catamounts host Furman in a Southern Conference inter-divisional showdown. Fans are encouraged to come dressed in their favorite beach attire and celebrate the summer during the cold, winter months.

Monday is also a part of the season-long "Manic Monday" promotion. Come celebrate making it through the first day of the work week with $2.00 admission for everyone. WCU students are admitted free with their student ID CatCards.

Fans will have numerous opportunities to win on Beach Night. One lucky fan - and four lucky friends - could be named the "Domino's Fan of the Game," which would allow them to sit in a special "beach bungalow" area and eat free Domino's pizza while drinking an assortment of Coca-Cola products and watching the Catamounts up close and personal on the floor. To get everyone on their feet, moving and grooving to the Carolina beach music, the Mountain Shag Club will do a special performance at halftime. Do you think you have the pastiest legs in Cullowhee? Well prove it by entering the "Pasty Legs Contest" and show them off. The winner of the contest will win a free month of tanning from Sunflair Tanning Salon at the Catamount Travel Center, in Cullowhee.

Cheer on the Catamounts as they look to move up the conference standings. It is sure to be an offensive battle, with both Western and Furman leading the SoCon in three-point shooting. Junior guard, Kyle Greathouse is second in the conference making 47 percent of his 3-point shots. Also, Western is one of the top 3-point shooting teams in the Southern Conference, increasing your chance to get a free basketball t-shirt each time the Cats hit a trey as part of the Zaxby's 3-Point T-Shirt promotion.
