Jan. 17, 2007

Cullowhee, N.C. - Make your plans now to be in the Ramsey Center for a day of activities this coming Monday, Jan. 22 as Catamount basketball holds two games in a non-traditional double-header.

First, the Lady Catamounts entertain the College of Charleston at Noon in the annual Education Day game. School-age children from across Western North Carolina will be in the Ramsey Center for a day of activities including educational sessions taught by members of the WCU Athletics staff. The participants will also be treated to a FREE pizza lunch, courtesy of Papa's Pizza To Go of Cullowhee. The sessions begin at 9:30 am on Monday and last until 11:30 am.

Also on Monday, the WCU Athletics Department will honor its "Lunch and a Game" promotion. For just $5.00, fans will get a ticket to the game and a voucher that is redeemable for a FREE hot dog, soft drink and a bag of chips from the concession stands in the Ramsey Center.

Special half-time entertainment will also be in store as the jump roping teams from Cherokee will be performing on the court.

Monday night, the Catamount men host SoCon-rival, Elon, at 7:00 pm in the sixth-annual Beach Night game in the Ramsey Center, presented by the Comfort Suites of Charleston, S.C. and the Catamount Travel Center. Even with the recent blast from Old Man Winter, "Summertime is Calling You" to Ramsey -- break out the flowery shirts, flip flops, and even the shorts for a fun-filled night including the best music on Earth -- Carolina beach tunes!

Also, "let 'em glow!" The only night where white, white, white can glow, glow, glow. Enter the Pasty Legs Contest sponsored by the Catamount Travel Center and win a free month of tanning.

Beach Night is sure to get you in the mood for summer...well, at least Spring Break, coming soon to the WCU campus. For all students, we encourage you to dress in your best beach wear for our annual costume contest. Win accommodations to Charleston, S.C. for a much-needed spring break get-away and more spring break give-aways, sponsored by the Comfort Suites of Charleston.
