I Prove My Purple... Do You?
Prove Your Purple: Randy Eaton
WCU Director of Athletics
"Proving your Purple is something that should resonate with all Catamount fans. For those who live in our area, come out and support the Catamounts at our home games. For those who don't live in Western North Carolina, come cheer on our teams when we are on the road and play at a school near you. We want people to prove their purple by investing their time in helping us grow our game day attendence and the Catamount Club to support scholarships. All of our alumni need to reengage with WCU and come back campus to see what the school looks like now, what special things are happening, and how they can be a part of it."
Prove Your Purple:
WCU Head Football Coach
"I prove my purple by setting the bar and expectations for our players in 2014, the year of the Cats. I am here every day until we open at South Florida to see our players meet and exceed our expectations, so that we can a make a run at a Southern Conference Championship."
"To our fans, We have six home games this season, and we need our fans to prove their purple by not being a one game wonder, but six game warriors. We need people to be in attendance and give our players that boost of moral and energy that only comes when Catamount Nation rises."
Prove Your Purple:
Gorham Bradley '04

Prove Your Purple: Brad Hoover '99

"The color purple that symbolizes Western Carolina runs deep in my soul. I prove my purple by honoring the traditions of the past coaches and players who have paid the sacrifice to be where we are today, by reliving the memories of my teammates and our playing days as Catamounts at reunions, and by supporting the University and the Athletics department by helping lay a foundation for their success now as well as in the future. I bleed purple because of someone invested in making a difference in me. The commitment I have made is a direct result of that same impact I experienced as a student-athlete. I am honored to be a Catamount and to be able to give back and so should you!"

"I prove my purple by doing the things I need to do like going to classes, taking care of business, training hard and working hard to prepare for the season. i strive represent WCU as a role model with the fans and the community by spending time at the elementary school and giving back to the community and to WCU, a place that has given me so much."
"Having fans at the games and cheering us on gives that edge and motivation -- that Catamount Nation has our backs. We want people to prove their purple by being loud and making Cullowhee the worst place for opposing teams to visit. On the road, we want it to feel like a home game."
Prove Your Purple: Scottie Sigmon

"I prove my purple by showing up early to games, tailgating with my fraternity and starting chants from the crowd. Last season we convinced Chancellor Belcher to storm the field with us after the home victory over Elon to show our passion and support for the team. I am involved with our athletic teams as President of the Student Catamount Club and I strongly encourage all of the WCU students to get involved and help us leave a legacy that will set the standard for years to come."
