Cullowhee, N.C. – The Western Carolina cross country teams will compete in their final meet for the 2018 season on Friday as they travel to Rock Hill, S.C for the NCAA Southeast Regional hosted by Winthrop University.

The women’s 6K race being at 11 a.m. followed by the men’s 10K race at Noon. The meet consists of NCAA Division I schools in Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. Live results for the meet will be available via a link on

Both the men’s and women’s teams finished in sixth place at the Southern Conference Championships in Cullowhee on Oct. 27. Senior Kaitlyn Lingard earned Second Team All-Conference honors with an eighth-place finish and has been the top runner on the women’s side at every meet this season. For the men, senior Jordan Bostian finished in 16th place and has been the top finisher at every meet this season.

The top two teams from each region as well as 13 ad-large teams and top individuals who are not a member of a qualifying team will advance to the NCAA Championship in Madison, Wisc. on Nov. 17.
