Cullowhee, N.C. – Following an off weekend, the Western Carolina volleyball team returns to the court this weekend hosting Furman on Friday and Wofford on Saturday in the Ramsey Center with both matches beginning at 6 p.m.

Western Carolina is 7-8 overall and 1-3 in the SoCon after a 3-0 home sweep of UNCG on Sept. 26. Merry Gebel posted her third straight double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs to lead the Catamounts in that match.

Furman is 6-9 overall and 2-2 in league play after a pair of home sweeps against Mercer and The Citadel. Jordan McNeil leads the team with 130 kills with Meg DeMaar the team leader in digs with 262.The Paladins lead the conference in digs and are second in team hitting percentage and kills.

Wofford is 9-8 overall and 2-2 following wins over The Citadel and Mercer. The Terriers. Colleen Reilly leads the conference in blocks per set with 1.02. Taylor Gill sits at the top of the conference in digs per set at 5.31.

Furman leads the all-time series 44-31 with the Catamounts holding an 18-15 record in matches played in Cullowhee. Western Carolina leads the all-time series against Wofford 24-14.

Western Carolina remains at home next weekend, hosting Samford at 6 p.m. Oct. 12 and Chattanooga at Noon on Oct. 13.
