Cullowhee, N.C. – Western Carolina’s Justice Bigbie and Andrew Bullock have both been named to rosters for the Northwoods League All-Star Game. The 25th installment of the Northwoods’ mid-season classic is slated for Tuesday, July 16 at 7:05 pm CT / 8:05 pm ET at Cost Cutters Field at Riverfront Stadium in Waterloo, Iowa.

Bigbie, one of the mid-season favorites to garner the league’s top player honors at summer’s end, ranks among the Northwoods League leaders in many statistical categories in suiting-up for the Madison (Wis.) Mallards. He ranks sixth in overall batting average at .346 that includes a league-leading 55 base hits. His eight home runs – including a pair of grand slams – rank tied for second in the league while his 13 doubles are third, two behind WCU teammate, Bullock, who paces the Northwoods with 15, two-base hits. Bigbie also has a league-leading 40 RBI entering weekend play.

Greg Holland Collects 200th Career Save

In other baseball news, former Catamount RHP Greg Holland collected his 200th career save back in late June. He became the 51st member of the 200-saves club all-time and remains just one of six active closers to reach the milestone. His career save percentage is upwards of 89-percent.

His milestone save came in an 8-5 victory for his Arizona Diamondbacks over the Los Angeles Dodgers on June 25, 2019.

During his career, Holland racked-up 93 total saves in 2013-14 with Kansas City, earning the American League Reliever of the Year honors in 2014. After returning from injury that sidelined him in 2016, he led the National League with 41 saves with the Colorado Rockies back in 2017.

Holland was a 10th-round draft pick by Kansas City back in 2007 and made his MLB debut in 2010.
