Cullowhee, N.C. - Days are counting down until the fiscal year renewal deadline for the Catamount Club, the fundraising arm of Western Carolina University Athletics, arrives. The renewal deadline is this Sunday, June 30, 2019.

Through the scholarship support provided by Catamount Club members, the organization had a banner year in 2017-18 that included raising a record-breaking $1.57 million in scholarship funds to benefit Catamount student-athletes. All told for the fiscal year 2017-18 inclusive of donations to the Catamount athletic scholarship fund, endowed scholarships, and restricted giving, the Catamount Club raised over $2.55 million a year ago -- another record-breaking, all-in amount.

Catamount Club donors have made a commitment to invest in Western Carolina Athletics and its young men and women like never before. The future remains very promising as the Club continues to ambitiously press towards the target of fully-funding each athletic program allowing the coaches to recruit to their NCAA maximum scholarship budget towards fielding championship-caliber teams.

The Catamount Club is excited to continue closing the competitive gap with its set goal of $1.62 million for the 2018-19 fiscal year -- a lofty goal that would set yet another record in annual scholarship support for Western Carolina student-athletes. By reaching this goal, it would mark the first time in department history private philanthropic support covered over 50 percent of total scholarship cost.

Over the past six years the Catamount Club annual fund has nearly tripled, growing from $546,000 to over $1,571,000. As a result of the generosity of Catamount Club donors, WCU Athletics has added 43 scholarship equivalencies for student-athletes since 2011.

We ask you to continue your involvement and advocacy of our incredible student-athletes by renewing your Catamount Club membership for the upcoming year.
