Cullowhee, N.C. - Western Carolina enters the final round of Furman's Lady Paladin Invitational on Sunday in 17th place overall with a two-round score of 662 (327-335). Paired with individual competitors, WCU's scoring five hits the course between the 15th and 18th holes at 9:00 am on Sunday morning.

Freshmen Hazel Martin and Harper Gilreath paced the team with matching scores of 82 in Saturday's second round. Gilreath trimmed five strokes off her opening-round score to sit 89th overall while Martin is 83rd at 163.
Senior Alyssa Morahan has a two-round score of 162 (78-84) to lead the Catamounts in 82nd overall entering the final 18 holes. Classmate Amanda Floberg is 90th (83-87) and junior transfer Shannon Heerey is 91st in the individual standings with rounds of 85 and 88 for a total of 173.
First-round leader, Daytona State, continues to hold a four-stroke edge over the second-place team, though there is a new runner-up after 36 holes. Tournament-host, Furman, trails the 36-hole leader by four strokes, 573-to-577, entering Sunday's final round. Middle Tennessee State (583) is third followed by a two-way tie for fourth between Kennesaw State (298-289=587) and Virginia Tech (288-299=587).
Jiwon Jeon of Daytona State holds a six-stroke lead in the individual race, just ahead of a three-way tie for second that includes Furman golfers Alice Chen and Haylee Harford, as well as her DSU teammate, Hollie Muse. Jeon has posted rounds of 64 and 71 for a two-day total of 9-under par, 135, six-strokes ahead of the tie at 141.
