Jacksonville, Fla. - Western Carolina has two individuals inside the top 10 to sit in a two-way tie for third as a team collectively after 18 of the scheduled 36 holes at the Bulldog Florida Invitational being contested at the par-72, 6,003-yard Windsor Parke Golf Club.
Junior transfer Amanda Floberg carded a 5-over par 77 to sit tied for fifth while senior Ashley Thompson is two strokes in arrears in a tie for 10th to lead the Catamounts entering Tuesday's final round.
Sophomore Natalia Villavicencio shot 83 on Wednesday to sit tied for 21st with six others, while Alyssa Morahan is three-strokes back at 86 in a tie for 36th. Rounding out WCU's scoring five is freshman Brianna Plummer in 45th overall at 89.
Stetson leads the nine-team field by four strokes over High Point, 310-to-314. WCU is tied with tournament-host, Butler, 15 strokes off the lead with matching scores of 325, while Lipscomb rounds out the top five, three strokes back at 328.
Samantha Vodry of High Point and the Stetson duo of Guilia Vandenberg and Eilidh Watson pace the 53-golfer field in a three-way tie for first place after the first round. The trio each shot 3-over par, 75, in Wednesday's first round.
The final round -- WCU's fifth over the past four days in Florida -- is scheduled for Thursday.
