2016 (Senior):Named second team Academic All-America today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) - the first in the history of Western Carolina softball history ... Named to the Southern Conference First Team as a pitcher ... For the third straight year named CoSIDA Academic First Team All-District III ... Received the Dorothy Hicks Post-Graduate Scholarship from the Southern Conference ... Named Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week (April 11) ... Named Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week (Feb. 17) ... Played and started in all 57 games ... Made 21 starts and had 49 appearances in the pitching circle with a record of 13-16, a career-high eight saves, tossing 179.2 innings, with a career-high 202 strikeouts ... With the 202 strikeouts, Sigmon becomes just the third Catamount pitcher in school history to go over 200 strikeouts in a season ... Had a .279 batting average with 50 hits (a career-high), eight doubles, three homeruns and 32 RBI ... Had 13 multiple hit games and eight multiple RBI games .... 2015 (Junior): Named to the 2015 Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District III First Team for the second straight year ... Named General Shale Student-Athlete of the Week ... Tied her own school record with six saves and has a Western Carolina school record 12 saves in her career ... Played first base and was a relief pitcher during the season ... Started in all 53 games and also made 31 appearances, with one start, on the pitching rubber ... As a pitcher, had a 2.11 ERA with a 3-5 record ... Ranked second on the team with 87 strikeouts in 63.0 innings pitched ... At the plate, had a .242 batting average with 40 hits, 21 runs scored, five doubles, second on the team with seven homeruns and 27 RBI ... Also a perfect 6-for-6 in stolen bases ... Had seven multiple hit games and eight multiple RBI games ... Ended the year on an eight-game hitting streak.
2014 (Sophomore):2014 Capital One First Team Academic All-District III selection ... Earned SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week honor ... Broke single-season and school record for saves with six and ended 2014 ranked fourth in the nation in saves ... Started and played in all 53 games splitting time between first base and pitcher ... Ranked third on the team, of the pitching staff, with 60 strikeouts ... Had a 1.40 ERA and tossed 45 innings with a 2-2 record ... At the plate, third on the team with a .273 batting average ... Second on the team in doubles (7), runs scored (18) and RBI (15) ... Third on the team with 45 hits ... Nine multiple hit games and led the team in multiple RBI games with six.
2013 (Freshman):Named Southern Conference Player of the Week (04/22/13) ... The only freshman to played in all 56 games and started 55 ... Spilt time between first base and at pitcher making 12 appearances, starting 10, ... Made her pitching debut at Top-25 Florida on February 16, 2013, holding the high-octane Gators to just five runs on six hits and fanned nine batters ... Set her season-high for strikeouts, on the mound, when she recorded 10 strikeouts against ETSU (03/20/13) ... Ended the year with 55 strikeouts on the mound ... At first base, she had just six errors on the year ... Led the team in RBI (28) and doubles (9) ... Also led the team in multiple hit games with 13 and tied for first on the team in multiple RBI games with seven ... Ranked second on the team in batting average with .273 ... Tied for lead on the team in homeruns with seven ... Hit first homerun of her Catamount career against Albany (03/01/13).
High School: In 2012 named to Catawba County Student-Athlete Hall of Fame ... As a junior, was Region 7 All-State, Region 7 All-District, Region 7 Pitcher of the Year, CVAC Conference Player of the Year, CVAC All-Conference and helped lead her team to a CVAC Regular Season Conference championship ... As a sophomore, named NC All-State, Region 7 Pitcher of the Year, Region 7 All-District, CVAC Player of the Year and All-Conference and was also helped team to achieve CVAC Conference and Tournament Champions ... Also played basketball and volleyball receiving conference accolades for both.
