CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Western Carolina track & field teams combined for 14 top-10 finishes with six of those coming in sprint and relay events
Trini Feggett was the runner-up in the men’s 200-meter dash with a time of 21.18. It marks Feggett’s second top-three individual finish of the weekend following his third-place finish in the men’s 100-meter dash on Friday afternoon. Devaniel Dale scored a seventh-place result in the event as he crossed the finish line in 21.76.
The men’s 4x400-meter relay quartet of Dale, Chace Washington-Saunders, Miles Greer and Caleb Albrecht finished in second place with a time of 3:15.73.
In the men’s pole vault invite, Charles Cooley tied for third place after topping a height of 4.55 meters (14’11”). As the event was split up into two sections, Thomas Martin was the runner-up in the second section after clearing a height of 4.25 meters (13’11.25”). Jonathan Lehe finished in fifth place after he cleared the bar set at 3.95 meters (12’11.5”).
Lesleigh Tabor finished in third place in the women’s shot put thanks to her throw of 13.19 meters (43’3.25”). Amy Yarborough finished in eighth with her best throw of 12.08 meters (39’7.25”).
The men’s 4x100-meter relay team of Cory Alston, Feggett, Washington-Saunders, and Shon Pratcher finished in fifth place with a time of 41.54.
Nicholas Lyons scored a sixth-place finish in the men’s triple jump with a mark of 14.26 meters (46’9.5”).
The quartet of Keysia Grant, Dominque Delisser, Kellsie Whitehead, and Makaila McIntyre finished in sixth place in the women’s 4x100-meter relay as they crossed the finish line with a time of 47.91. Whitehead, Delisser, Marissa Blakely, and Peyton Wood placed seventh in the women’s 4x400-meter relay with their time of 3:52.33.
Autumn James finished in eighth place in the women’s triple jump with a mark of 11.58 meters (38’).
Dakota Wright finished in 10th place in the men’s shot put with a throw of 15.19 meters (49’10”).
The Catamounts are back in action next weekend at the Adidas Winthrop Invitational in Rock Hill, S.C.
