RICHMOND, Ky. -- Western Carolina women's soccer dropped a hard-fought contest to EKU 1-0 Sunday at the EKU Soccer Field.

Turning Point

Late in the first half, EKU scored on a penalty kick to break open a scoreless game and give the Colonels a 1-0 lead.

 

Individual Leaders
- EKU's Tara Claus scored the only goal of the game.
- Kasey Cooke had four shots for WCU. - WCU goalkeeper Carly Tinstman gave up one goal and had four saves.

Inside the Box Score
- At 41:28, EKU's Claus scored for the Colonels off a penalty kick. Western Carolina was called for a foul inside the box setting up the PK, and score, for EKU.
- In the waning seconds of the game, Western Carolina had a solid look at the goal when Cooke took her fourth shot of the game but the ball was saved by the EKU goalkeeper.
