Chicago – Western Carolina wrapped up the Windy City Invitational Saturday afternoon against tournament host Chicago State, falling to the Cougars 3-1. Chicago State won by scores of 25-19, 22-25, 25-16, and 25-14.

Chicago State improves to 3-4 while Western Carolina falls to 2-4.

Abigail Veit led the Catamounts with 10 kills as she finished in double figures in kills in two of three matches in the tournament. Haley Multerer was credited with seven kills and hit a team-best .778. Hannah Price and Meagan Sanchez both had 12 digs. Price also had a match-best 18 assists.

Sanchez was named to the Windy City Invitational All-Tournament team after finishing with 40 digs in the tournament.

Western Carolina will play in the Appalachian State Invitational on Thursday and Friday. The Catamounts and Mountaineers open the tournament Thursday at 6:30 before WCU faces Iowa State and NC State on Friday.
