Cullowhee, N.C. – In front of a lively crowd, the Western Carolina volleyball team defeated Anderson 3-1 in an exhibition match Monday night inside the Ramsey Center.

“It was exciting to be able to host an exhibition match in front of a great crowd tonight,” head coach Karen Glover stated. “We played a few different lineups and I was able to see a lot of good things from our team. There are definitely some things to improve upon but overall we were able to gain valuable experience going into our opening weekend tournament.”

The Catamounts open the 2019 season Friday at 7 pm at Georgia State in the GSU Invitational and will face Fordham at 10 and Lamar at 4 pm Saturday. Friday’s match will feature live stats and video, with live stats available for Saturday’s contests. WCU will face mountain rival UNC Asheville in the home opener on Sept. 17 at 6 p.m.
