ORLANDO, Fla. – Western Carolina women’s tennis added another “W” to the win column on their spring break trip defeating Saint Joseph 6-1 Thursday in Orlando, Fla.

 

TURNING POINT:

Western Carolina swept doubles to take an early 1-0 lead and went on to capture victories in five of the six singles matches.

 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

  • The Catamounts took the doubles point sweeping all three doubles matches.
  • WCU quickly made their way through No. 2 through No. 6 singles winning in two sets. The Catamounts lone loss came at No. 1 singles as Jordan Strickland fell in two sets in the No. 1 spot.

 

NOTES:

  • Western Carolina has won seven of its last eight matches and fourth straight.
  • Rookie Jacy Smith has won seven-straight matches at No. 2 singles and 10 of her last 11. She currently leads the team with an 11-3 singles record.

 

UPCOMING:

Western Carolina will conclude its spring break trip Friday taking on Bucknell in Orlando, Fla.
