Spartanburg, S.C. - Western Carolina had six batters post multi-hit games including four, three-hit outings as the Catamounts powered past Wofford, 12-3, on Sunday afternoon at Russell C. King Field, completing the three-game Southern Conference series sweep. WCU again scored early and in bunches, jumping out to a 6-0 lead through the first two frames with a four-run second, recording four, two-run frames in the victory.

Junior Nobu Suzuki drove home a career-high four on a career-best, 3-for-6 outing at the dish to lead the Catamount offense, while Matt Smith posted his second-consecutive three-hit game, plating three in a 3-for-5 showing. The Fredricktown, Ohio, native belted a two-run home run in the first inning to put the Catamounts ahead, scoring in the opening frame for the 16th time this season.

Sophomore Caleb Robinson also collected three hits in a 3-for-5 showing while Garrett Brown extended his hitting streak to 14-straight with a 3-for-5, two RBI outing. Senior Kramer Ferrell also stretched his hit streak to 12 with a first-inning base knock. Bryson Bowman also belted his team-leading eighth home run of the season while Spencer Holcomb doubled as a part of a two-hit outing on Sunday.

Reliever Colton Davis (4-1) struck out five in 4.1 innings out of the bullpen for starter Tristan Baker, who was lifted in the fourth inning, to earn the victory. Davis scattered three hits and worked around three walks, keeping the Terriers off the scoreboard during his time on the mound. Baker surrendered a pair of runs on four hits with three walks and three strikeouts in the start, while B.J. Nobles struck out two in the ninth, allowing an unearned run on a hit.

After Smith's home run in the top of the first inning, Wofford cut the deficit back to one with a marker in the home half of the frame. However, WCU capitalized on five base hits including a run-scoring single by Brown, two-RBI hit by Suzuki and Smith's third RBI of the game to plate four runs to take a 6-1 lead after two.

In the fifth, WCU got the RBI double by Holcomb and another run-scoring single by Brown for the second of four, two-run frames. Bowman blasted a two-run homer in the eighth before WCU added two runs in the ninth on Suzuki's two RBI single.

Wofford starter Jacob Condra-Bogan (3-2) suffered the loss, allowing eight runs on 11 hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Two Terriers tallied two-hit games as McClain Bradley finished 2-for-3 with a double and Kody Ruedisili returned to the Terrier lineup, finishing 2-for-5 with a bunt single RBI and a double.

Western Carolina (14-13, 5-1 SoCon) does not play mid-week, returning to action next weekend at VMI (15-17, 1-5 SoCon) in Lexington, Va., for a three-game conference series.
