Western Carolina Head Coach Mark Prosser

On WCU’s Effort

“I think we fought. I think we deserved a better outcome. It was a very good atmosphere. They have very good players that made plays, but I don’t think the final score is indicative of how that game was played. I loved how we competed for the first 30-32 minutes but didn’t like how we competed down the stretch. It’s a learning experience for us. There are a lot of dejected kids in our locker room that feel like they had an opportunity here and let it slip away, but it’s good for us in the learning process and we can’t sulk about it because we have a very good Gardner-Webb team to get ready for.

On Late Game Scoring Drought

“I think that we settled a bit at times. The things we take pride offensively we went away from. We had to play through foul trouble in the second half. We have to continue to compete.”
