Earlysville, Va. – Western Carolina senior Lindsey Trotter and sophomore Siena Gates both recorded personal record 6K times as the duo ran at the NCAA Southeast Regional Cross Country Championship held at Panorama Farms on Friday morning.

“We had two good performances today,” head coach Jesse Norman stated. “Lindsey bettered her all-time performance while Siena moved up with her performance. I’m excited about what this will do for the upcoming track seasons.”

Trotter finished the race in 89th with a personal best time of 22:03.90, besting her previous top 6K time of 22:20 set at the ECU Invitational earlier this season. She remains the owner of the fourth-fastest 6K time in WCU program history.

Gates crossed the finish line in 146th with a time of 22:49.6, besting her previous top time by three seconds. Gates is now tied for 12th on the program’s 6K top times list.

NC State topped the women’s team standings while meet host Virginia finished atop the men’s leaderboard. Furman was the highest finishing Southern Conference team as the Paladins were the women’s runner-up and placed fourth in the men’s race. Elly Henes of NC State was the individual winner in the women’s race with a time of 19:48.90 while Peter Seufer of Virginia Tech won the men’s 10K race in 29:20.70.
