CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina women’s tennis hosts its second WCU Invite of the fall Oct. 12-13 at the Catamount Athletic Complex.

The Catamounts welcome Brenau, Longwood and North Carolina A&T to the round-robin tournament. Each team will play singles matches and doubles match against one another.

In the Catamounts’ first fall tournament of the season, Sept. 21-22, Western Carolina had a strong showing as WCU saw the return of redshirt sophomore Jordyn King who sat out the 2019 spring season due to injury. King sailed through singles play winning all three of her matches at No. 3 singles. She paired with sophomore Jacy Smith at No. 2 doubles and the duo won all three of their doubles matches.

Speaking of Smith, she also went 3-0 at the Catamounts last fall home tournament at No. 2 singles. Senior Jordan Strickland paired up with freshman Emily Elliott at No. 1 doubles and the pair ended with a record of 2-1.
