CULLOWHEE, N.C. – Western Carolina Head Women’s Tennis Coach Bret Beaver today announced the 2019-20 fall and spring schedule. The slate of contests includes two home fall tournaments as well as seven home dates.

The 2019 fall campaign begins with the WCU Fall Invite in Cullowhee on Sept. 21-22. It is the first of two home fall tournaments that include the second WCU Fall Invite Oct. 12-13. The Catamounts will also compete in the ITA Regionals at Wake Forest Oct. 24-28 and close out the fall with a tournament at Wofford Nov. 8-10.

“Our fall schedule sets us up nicely to prepare for our dual match season in the spring,” said Beaver. Also, playing in the ITA regionals during the fall is a great opportunity for the players to compete against the top talent in the North and South Carolina.”

The Catamounts open the spring portion of their schedule on the road taking a swing through the state of Tennessee. WCU will play at Belmont on Jan. 25 and at Tennessee State on Jan. 26.

Other non-conference road matches include trips to Gardner-Webb (Feb. 1), Presbyterian (Feb. 9), Radford (Feb. 12), Clemson (Feb. 16), South Carolina State (Feb. 23). Elon (March 1), Longwood (March 10) and North Carolina Central (March 12). Road Southern Conference matches include ETSU (March 5), Chattanooga (March 7) and Samford (March 26).

The Catamounts first home match of the spring is against Montreat College on Feb. 16. WCU will also host Mercer (Feb. 7), Campbell (March 16), Appalachian State (March 17), Wofford (March 22), UNCA (March 24) and Furman (April 7).
