Cullowhee, N.C. – Entering her second year as the head coach of the Western Carolina women’s golf program, Courtney Gunter has added three players to her 2019-2020 roster entering the fall season including two true freshmen and a sophomore transfer.

Gunter has announced the addition of sophomore transfer Madison Isaacson (Greensboro, N.C. / UNC Wilmington / Ragsdale HS) and freshmen Victoria Ladd (Greensboro, N.C. / Northern Guilford HS) and Bailee Twiford (Coinjock, N.C. / Currituck County HS) to the women’s golf roster.

Western Carolina’s 2019-20 schedule, which includes 10 total events equally divided between the fall and spring semesters, will be officially released in the coming days.

Here’s more information on WCU’s three newest women’s golf roster additions:

Madison Isaacson

Sophomore – Greensboro, N.C. (UNC Wilmington / Ragsdale HS)

Prior to Western Carolina: Transferred to WCU from UNCW after competing in nine tournaments including the NCAA Norman, Okla., regional as a freshman, posting a 79.35 scoring average … Shot in the 70s in 13 of her 23 seasonal rounds … Posted a career-best finish of 12th at the CAA Championship … Was named a WGCA All-American Scholar and received the CAA Commissioner’s Academic Award for both the fall and spring semesters; At Ragsdale HS: Was a four-year letter winner and a four-time all-conference selection who twice was dubbed league Player of the Year … Won the 4A Central Regional title and placed sixth at the state championship … Two-time winner of the TYGA Archdale-Trinity Junior Championship and finished in a tie for second-place at PBK Masters in 2016 and 2018.

Personal: Full name is Madison Nicole Isaacson … Is the daughter of Joanna and Jon Isaacson … Was born in Albemarle, N.C.

Victoria Ladd

Freshman – Greensboro, N.C. (Northern Guilford HS)

Prior to Western Carolina: Finished tied for 18th individually with a 36-hole score of 166 in the NCHSAA 3A Girls Golf Championship, helping Northern Guilford to a second-straight runner-up team finish … Finished tied for fourth as an individual in the 2017 NCHSAA Girls Golf Championship with an 8-over par showing … Posted a top 10 finish in the Mid-State 3A Conference girls golf match-play in 2016 … High school coach was Theodore Bonham. … Has 11 top-five finishes including five podium finishes in SCJGA junior competition, winning the PKBGT Regional North Carolina Series event at the Pinewood Country Club in July 2019 … Ranked 16th in North Carolina on the PKB Girls Golf Tour.

Personal: Is the daughter of Jessie and Robert Ladd.

Bailee Twiford

Freshman – Coinjock, N.C. (Currituck County HS)

Prior to Western Carolina: Active on the Carolinas Golf Association amateur statewide competitive tour … Won the 2018 North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) Class 1A/2A East Regional Girls Golf Tournament by a stroke, claiming the single-round championship with a 66 at the Goldsboro Municipal Golf Course … Finished third at the 2018 NCHSAA 1A/2A Women’s Golf State Championship with a 36-hole score of 4-over par, 153 (77-76) … Was a fall sports finalist for the HighSchoolOT Honors as a senior … Finished third in the 2017 1A/2A NCHSAA Girls Golf Championship with a two-round score of 157 (75-82), winning a state championship at Currituck … High school coach was Dan O’Boyle.

Personal: Is the daughter of Karen and Darrell Twiford.
